Onion Rava Dosa

Onion rava dosa is a very simple recipe for breakfast with a few ingredients which are easily available at home. It is very easy recipe but the most important thing is the tawa should be extra hot and  the batter consistency(It should be free flowing ) , for restaurant style onion rava dosa.

for 10-12 dosa

Ingredients

Rava / Semolina - 1/2 cup
Maida / All Purpose flour - 1/4 cup
Rice Flour - 1/4 cup
Curd - 2 tablespoon
Onion - 1 finely chopped
Green Chilly - 1
Coriander Leaves -1 tablespoon
Curry Leaves - 1 Sprig
Jeera - 1 teaspoon (crushed)
peppercorn powder 1/4 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Water - 2 Cups
Oil  - For making dosa

Direction

Chop onion, green chilli, ginger, coriander and curry leaves finely.

In a deep bowl add rava, rice flour and maida. add crushed jeera and peppercorn powder .
Then add chopped onion, green chilli, coriander leaves and curry leaves.

Pour curd and 2 cups of water and whisk it well without any lumps. Now add salt and keep the batter undisturbed for 10 to 15 mins.

The batter should be free flowing and in pouring consistency.
Heat the tawa, ( for testing..sprinkle little water, if the water evaporates immediately then the tawa is ready to make dosa). Now mix the batter again and pour a ladle  of batter from the edges to center, don't spread the batter with the ladle(as we do in making of other dosa). Drizzle oil.

Cook for 2 to 3 minutes in very low flame, till it turns crispy , no need to flip the dosa.

Serve this onion rava dosa with coconut chutney and Onion tomato chutney
